Photogallery With a field of 23 players, huge media presence and the Minister of Sport, Mr. Victor Korzh, the Kiev Golf Center played host to the 2007 Kiev City Golf Championships.
The 18 hole Stableford tournament was played in 3 categories with a very international field. Canadian Kelly Hoodikoff, who shot a new course record 68 on the way to the overall title, proved that he was justifiably considered the favorite before the event, although the Swedish player Johan Ryden overcame a shaky start to seriously challenge Hoodikoff. Third place was for Ukrainian Petr Pereverzev. Sponsor of the event Puma Golf Travel offered some great prizes for the winners in all categories. The neary was won by Victor Samojlenko, who knocked it within 2 feet at the 13th. The Ladies division turned out to be hard fought battle between mother Irina Trofimova and daughter Luisa Trofimova for first place with daughter Louisa clinching the title with a super approach shot on the last hole. The under 16 champion Alexej Samojlenko showed very steady nerves as he teed off in front of the TV cameras and eventually won with 25 Stableford points.
